PHNOM PENH: The Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Samdech Techo Voluntary Youth Doctor Association (TYDA), Pech Chanmony, has said that the volunteer doctors have helped treat nearly 350,000 people over the past 10 years of operations. This includes more than 6,000 critically ill patients and 58 patients with severe heart disease.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of more than 800 members of TYDA on Sunday afternoon, 4 September, Pech Chanmony said that the association is a mechanism to open the door and provide opportunities for members to participate in humanitarian activities across the country, under the auspices of various partner organizations, with they have the opportunity to also build good relations with.

She also thanked the members of the association for dedicating their time, energy, knowledge, skills and experience to help people across the country. She extended her thanks to the donors and philanthropists who have been providing access to equipment and support, allowing the association to continue its humanitarian mission. She added that she would like to thank all partners for their support through direct participation in the mission, as well as for facilitating all of the association’s activities.

This is the sixth time that the Samdech Techo Voluntary Youth Doctor Association (TYDA) has announced its new membership. The association now has more than 8,000 members.
